People with special needs help to scan books

Since the beginning of 2008, hearing impaired people are employed for scanning of books. At the moment, part of employees that were involved in the process of the digitisation of books from the very beginning have been promoted from scanning operators to production coordinators and quality control managers. They are training new employees, making sure that the standards of high quality performance are maintained.

Arnolds Pavlins - the President of the Latvian Association of the Deaf has visited scanning facilities and is very pleased with the progress. The Latvian Association of the Deaf will continue to inform people with visual impairment about the activities of the Library of Ideju Forums, employment possibilities and available literature. The digital copies of books that are scanned during the activities of the Ideju Forums Library will be available for visually and hearing impaired people.
